Drawing Final Exam
1a) Choose a project that you felt was challenging but yet successful? The one project that was pretty challenging to do was the foreshortening project i felt like that project took me awhile to get it right when i started off it was so bad the feel were bent and i couldn't get the proportion right. i was first going to do a doll up close but then it was to hard to do that sketch so i asked my sister if she could take a picture and i put one feet in front of the other so it could be foreshortening. it was hard to find how to get the drawing to look like the real image. at the end of the time we had to finish the project i finished it and i feel like it turned out pretty well. And the colors came out pretty well. But for sure one thing i would change about this project would have to be to make the color of the jeans a bit darker and make the shoes look much better by adding more details to the shoe laces and the words that the shoes have.
1) How do you describe your artistic style/perspective? How do you define success as an artist? What do you find most rewarding about being an artist? What are some of the most important skills you draw upon to create your work? What are some of the most significant things you've learned art-making? How i would describe my artist style would be soft and smooth but pretty hard to understand. Because i'm not that good at art i just started to get into drawing and once you get the techniques it gets pretty understanding i was doing so many things wrong but i feel like my style has gotten better and when i used to draw or do a project i use to rush but know i have seen that i have to take my time and go step by step to get all the proportions right. My perspective when i first started drawing clas i had no clue what that world was but when we stared to do the lesson i learned how to do 2 point perspective and 3 pt. perspective i feel like if i had to choose i would only use 2 pt. perspective because it comes out better. And its like if you where looking at the drawing as it was 3D. How i would define success in an artist would be by what you are trying to say in the drawing. like in color many people can color bold or naturalistic. I feel like i'm naturalistic because i like to use soft colors and make the colors go together. The most rewarding thing about being an artist would be that you don't say how you're feeling or what are you are trying to say by a drawing that's the one thing i love about art. One skill i learn in this drawing class was that before you start any project or drawing you have to sketch out first to see what you would like to change or so you can get and understand what you are drawing. I have learned many art-making skills this year one of the skills i learned this year and was the most helpful was on how to make my lines be flowing, bold, thick but being able to keep the pen down. and how to make plastic be see through with color. and facial tone and how to draw all of the facial features i used to draw a triangle nose and dot eyes but not anymore because i have learned so much about facial features and it has helped me alot.
3) Reflect on what your portfolio(all work you created through semester) may not revel about the semester. Do you think the work in your portfolio is an accurate reflection of your development in the class? I think all the art work thats on my portfolio is accurate because i have grown throughout the year i have gotten better at many things like toning, texture, shape, movement, and many other things if you where to go through my portfolio i feel like i have improved on everything. But the only thing i will keep working on is opacity and lines most definitely perspective. Because i want to be a better artist and i would like for my art work to come out clean and nice and for people to be able to understand it.
6) What medium was your favorite to work with? Explain why and how you were able to master the techniques associated with this medium?
I have learned many and different ways to use different mediums but if i had to choose only one to use for the rest of my art class i would i have to choose color pencil and definitely soft charcoal. Why because i think color pencil gives the art work and the artist to express their feelings through colors and it would give the art piece a better image on the visuals mind. And soft charcoal because its dark and but soft you can either go soft or hard but i would prefer to go soft because you can add layer after layer to make it darker.

7) Discuss one project where you felt you were the least successful.Explain why you felt this way. What would you do differently to change this piece? Explain. I think there was only one project I didn’t do so well and that was the opacity. Because I used color pencil and I should have used pastel colors with color pencil both of them would have been good together. What I would do differently would be a better position for the objects and instead of a bread I could have use a hand full of candy to make it fuller. This was the only project that didn’t turn out to look realistic.
