Blind contour 1
For this drawing I had to have my hand in one position and not move it I couldn't be looking at the paper I could only look at my hand and also not lift my pen because I would loses the spot I was on. I was thinking this is going to be pretty easy but it wasn't. The hand was supposed to be life size but mine was for sure not life size. We had to put in every detail we saw in our hand.
Blind contour 2
Blind contour drawing 2 I made a little progress in this drawing. Our hands could not be in the same position because we have to try different postures and my hand couldn't be flat because what details would my hand have if it was flat and also I had to be turned because than it would not be called blind contour drawing and so we wouldn't get temptation to look at the paper.
Blind contour drawing 3
Blind contour drawing 3 this is a little improvement but we couldn't still look at our papers. Our hands had to be in a different position but not flat it was pretty hard you may be able to tell where I lifted my pen in some parts of this drawing. I did do progress because my hand was not life size. When we started doing the blind contour drawings I was wondering what is blind contour drawing. Blind contour drawing is a drawing exercise where the artist draws the contour of a subject without looking at the paper. Blind contour drawing may not produce a good drawing but it helps draw more realistic.
Modified drawing 1
In this drawing I had to do a drawing of my hand and it had to be in a different position but this time we where allowed to look at the paper and our hand at the same time so that was pretty good but my hand didn't come out as good as I thought it would.
Modified drawing 2
Modified drawing I thing it's a pretty good technique to use as starting artist. In this picture I tried to draw to of my fingers up and the other three down the drawing just needed more detail because It looks to Plain to me and a bit more bigger.
Modified drawing 3
I feel like this is one of the best hand drawings I have done it was bigger and hand much more details. If I could choose a technique between blind contour drawing and modified drawing I would choose blind contour drawing because I feel like it's a better way because we use both senses of sight and touch and also it helps us see all the details on the object. Modified on the other hand does to but we may also draw what we think looks better to us and may not put all the details the object has.
Backpack drawing
In this drawing we also used contour lines to draw out the details we saw but we still couldn't lift up our pens because the lines wouldn't be smooth and the drawing would just look like a drawing of scribbles. I drew my backpack and started from the top part and went on from there to get everything on the way. It's not good to outline and the draw everything else because it wouldn't look good too.
Art room drawing
This was my sketch drawing of the art room it needed a bit of detail but I think it came out pretty good for my sketch drawing it was pretty hard to draw the ceiling and how to know where the floor was and everything else.
This is the drawing of my final drawing for the room i think I could have put more detail but it is good and it was hard not lifting the pen because this was also a contour line drawing I may have lifted my pen in some parts of the drawing but for the most part I think I did good. I had to look at the room
and see how everything was connected some stuff where not connected but I tried to connect them the sink I think was the hardest part of my drawing and the ceiling.

Critique questions
1) Did You use fluid lines? Explain how this is evident?
I did use fluid lines on this project and how you can tell is because my lines are not all over the place that are not straight but they are good and all my lines are connected and the lines do not have a darker spot then the others.
2)Explain how your knowledge and creating practice studies with contour line contributed to the success of your piece.
I think that by doing practices with contour lines was a big help because I knew how to draw and how to not lift the pen up. The first time I did contour lines they did not come out good but then as we kept practicing it helped me more and I got the hang of it.
3)Describe the difference in your contour line drawing to an outline drawing.
I see that a contour line drawing looks like it has more detail and looks more better. When I see an outline drawing I see details but it does not help that much because you wouldn't know where to start. An outline drawing is a drawing consisting only external lines.
4) Explain how your interpretation of lines is essential in capturing the look of the room.
I think it's essential and very important to take a look at the room and capture every detail in the spot that you are choosing to draw the room and it's also important that everything on room connects and nothing is left. Every room has lines all over the place if you just take a moment to look at it you can see how the lines are that's what I did I took a very good moment and looked at the room so I can get a good understanding of how everything was.
5)What did you learn from completing this drawing? If you could recreate your piece what would you do differently to enhance the final outcome.
I learned many things like how to put everything together and how to do better in contour lines and how they work. If I could recreate this drawing all over again I would choose a different spot and I would add more detail to it and also try not to lift up the pen as much.

Value chart
This is a value chart showing us how the lightness and darkness of a color and how the light goes on and gets darker. The value chart helped me get the understanding of where to go dark and where to go soft.
Practice shapes
These are the shapes we drew to see where the darker parts and the highlights of the shapes were and it helps a lot to know how to use the value chart.
White Ribbon
In this drawing we did a ribbon and had to do two loops and draw it. After we drawed the ribbon we had do to the shadows we saw in the ribbon. We did the drawing with charcoal pencil so we could get the feeling of how charcoal works I learned that charcoal pencil can make a weird nose but it's really good ar dark whites and how i like how it blends.
White Value Chart And Practice
In this value chart we did a prisma value chart and a charcoal value chart. And then do a drawing of any shape with the two different pencils to see what we liked better and to also see how the both work. If I had to choose between prisma or charcoal I would choose charcoal because it blends very well and can give you a very light white color but then prisma also is very soft and charcoal isn't. I learned that they both work in there own way which is pretty good.
Fabric Practice
In this drawing we did three practices and each we different pencil values the first drawing I did was charcoal pencil and I felt like it was a better was to blend but it could not get light and it was very hard because you couldn’t go back and erase it. The second drawing was white charcoal pencil it was so hard to get stark spots but it was very ease to go very light for where the highlight was. The third drawing was white prisma pencil I loved drawing with this pencil value because it felt so soft and you could erase if you messed up and got very dark and was good for dark shading and light shading.
This was my final drawing i thought it came out okay. I used the white prisma pencil because it was easier to draw and have got dark values which was good. And I decided to do it in black paper because the white shows up more in black paper and looks better.
1)Did you use a wide range of values? (A range from white to black with at least 9 values). Explain how is this evident? Yes i think I did use a wide range of values. This is evident because I couldn’t get a dark shade so I used the white charcoal pencil and I gave it more value to the drawing. This is evident because in my drawing it goes from very white to light white.
2)Explain how your knowledge and creating practice studies with value contributed to your piece? I think doing practice studies helped me a lot to know how to draw fabric because I had to get everything on the fabric like the folds it had and how to shape them. And know where to go light and where to go dark but it did help a lot because I could go back and look at those practice studies and it was easier to see the fabric through the view finder.
3)Describe the blending and transitions in your fabric ( discuss your use of pressure with pencil/colored pencil/charcoal pencil and other techniques to achieve this). What I used for my drawing was prisma color pencil. I choosed this kind of pencil because I felt like it was earlier to get darker parts to show where the darkness was. I put lots of pressure where it was darker and I went very soft as how the fabric went in lighting. First I out lines all the lines I saw in the fabric and then I started to see where the dark spots where and the light spots that helped me a lot. 4)Explain how your interpretation of texture is essential in capturing the look of the object. My interpretation of texture is essential in capturing the look of the fabric is to just take a good look at the object and see the details and how everything looks and how the fabric might feel. Fabric is smooth so my lines are going to have to be smooth and not rough because if I draw it rough it might not look like a fabric I go soft and draw the lines the same direction as how I see it in the fabric.
5)If you could recreate your pieces what would you do differently to enhance the final outcome? If I could recreate my piece I would try to draw the shapes of the fabric better and make it look more like fabric and go a bit darker and lighter on the fabric.

still life practices
These drawings are practice still life drawings and I took a picture of three different spots so all the pictures would not be the same. It was pretty hard to draw everything and to get details I look at the objects in the cart so I can know where the lights and dark was and to get a good vision of the objects.
Still life final
The first picture is my reference picture of my still life the second one is my in progress picture and I could use more fabric and make it look like it was actually on a table.
This is my final piece it took me a while to finish because I had to know how all the objects went and how to make the objects overlap. And make my edges fine and the dark and light shades and I did draw everything on the image I took of what I was going to draw.
1)Describe the craftsmanship of your drawing. (Is it clear, clean edges, blended well, smudges, defined space, etc.) Yes I feel like my drawing has clean edges and it’s blended well and it’s clear because you can see where the objects over lap and where there is fabric.
2)Are your values and shadows realistic? How many values did you include? How and why are values important?
I think my shadows are realistic but not to realistic I think I could do more but it is pretty hard to make the values very hard.
3)Is there a clear source of lighting?
Yes there is clear lighting on my drawing and you can tell where the dark spots are on my drawing and the light shades. And most of the objects have shadows.
4)How important were the compositional sketches? Explain.
The compositional sketches were very important because it help me know how to put the objects together and how they would go and gave me a good practice of how to draw my final piece and I could go back and look at the drawings.
5)How is your final drawing successful?
I feel like my final drawing came out very good because I have shadows and it looks good and it has a very good amount of objects. I don’t left anything out of the picture I drawed everything that I took a picture of so I think my final piece was very successful.
6)Are the proportions, structure and perspective of the subject correct?
Yes my proportions and structure, and perspective of the objects are correct because the objects are drawn good and have details. I think I could use more structure to my drawing.
7)Does the placement & grouping of objects create a pleasing arrangement (composition)?
Yes the grouping of the objects gives the picture a different view because it has more details then if you where to put the objects apart the drawing would not have to many details and when you were to look at the drawing it would look pretty wired and not have so many shadows and lighting.
8)Is there a center of interest and is it well located?
Yes to me the center of my drawing is the paint brush and the circle object well the objects that most stand out are the ones in the front of the drawing.
9)How well did you manage your time and resources throughout the process of creating this drawing? Do you see where you could improve in this area?
I manage my time very well because i took my time so all the objects could be well defined. Yes I could improve more on make the dark spots a bit darker and make my edges more defined.
10)What challenges did you encounter during this project and how did you overcome them?
I encounter lots of challenges throughout this project like knowing how to draw the objects and knowing where the light source was and how to make the edges very dark so you could tell where the objects overlap. I asked for help and kept looking at the objects on the table and at the picture on my phone.
11)What have you learned drawing a still life?
I learned that in a still life all objects have to be together and every still life has the dark fine edges and can always be hard to draw this but its always fun to try to draw new things.
1)Describe the craftsmanship of your drawing. (Is it clear, clean edges, blended well, smudges, defined space, etc.) Yes I feel like my drawing has clean edges and it’s blended well and it’s clear because you can see where the objects over lap and where there is fabric.

Pumkin and grape drawing
This is a drawing we did with prisma color pencil we did it for practice. My drawing didn’t come out good because I needed to add more dark shades to make it pop out more.
We did the same think for this drawing to buy we did grapes. I feel like my grapes came out good but I could have added more dark shades to.
GLASS
For this drawing we had to draw a glass. We first looked at a video to see how we could also use different colors to make the glass look more realistic. My glass didn’t come out so well what I did first was color in all the highlights with white and then color in the colors I saw in the picture. The background was purple and green the bottom was yellow and pink. That’s why I have all these colors in my drawing at first it was pretty hard to draw glass I thought u could only use the color white and grey but no you can use a Verity of colors.
FORESHORTENING
this drawing took me a while to do it was pretty hard I had to see how the actual picture look and get an idea of where the shoes went it was not so easy but at the end I thought my drawing came out pretty good.
Foreshortening questions
1. Describe how you created an interesting point of view? Was it successful? Why or why not? My point of view was two shoes in front but one looked bigger than the other one. The other shoe was in the background so it could look small. I think my drawing could have come out better if the shoes was more infront but yes I feel like my drawing did come out successful. Because it actually look like a foreshortening drawing.
2. Why is it important to understand perspective and how to draw it?
I think it’s important to understand perspective and how to draw it because perspective is what gives the drawing the three dimensional look and make the drawing look realistic. It also their is no right or wrong point of view for perspective.
3. How were the colored pencil exercises important in the success of your piece?
I feel like the color pencil exercises helped me a lot because I got the hang of how to control the pencil and how to make it look smooth. And they way we learned in class I used the same techniques for my drawing to make it look smooth.
4. Describe the craftsmanship of your colored pencil. What techniques were used? (How well the project is technically crafted).
The color pencils made my project alto more easier to do because the are easier to control and you can use a variety of colors to make it look good and so it can come out better I was going to use charcoal but I felt like charcoal would be hard to control. The techniques I used where the ones we learned in class like to know not to use to many colors and to start with a soft adding of colors it helped me a lot.
5. Were you able to achieve depth by showing a foreground, middle ground and back- ground? Explain.
Yes I was able to achieve depth in the background and in the middle ground and foreground of my drawing. I had to use different variety’s of colors to get the dark colors and make it look like the picture was infront and add more highlights to the shoes and the laces I added the color tans and white together to make it look like the real laces. Because in the picture the laces where brown.
6. Explain your experience with colored pencil and the project in general. What were the obstacles and advantages?
For this project I used prisma color pencil I felt like it would be easier to do it with and the colors would show more. I didn’t want to use charcoal or regular pencil because I wanted my drawing to be colored and look realistic even though it didn’t come out to look realistic. My obstacles for this project where that I had to color skin color and it was pretty hard because I had to use different colors. The advantages where that i had all the right colors and the colors blended well together.

OPACITY CANDY
For this project we did candy some wrapped and some not. At first I was thinking wow this is going to be really hard to draw but once I started drawing it. It was not the difficult but it was not the only think I struggled with was the colors and I over blended some of the colors. And how to make it look realistic and how to bring out the whites. And the size of the candy I made the candy to small if I would have made it a little more bigger and with more details it would have come out good.
opacity sketch
This was my opacity sketch it took me a while to get the right position and colors to make my drawing look realistic If I could redo my sketch I would focus mainly on the bread and make it look like it was actually see through but I think I did good we had a good amount of time to do this and when we were done we could start on our final drawing.
Opacity drawing
For this project we did opacity which we had to take pictures of something that was see through and draw it. I decided to do bread, water, and rice because all of this things are see through. And it would have more white.
1. Describe the craftsmanship of your drawing. (Is it neat and well executed?)
I think my drawing came out good but I could have used a bit more white because the loaf of bread does not look like an opacity drawing but the water bottle and rice did come out pretty good. Yes, I think my drawing was neat and well executed.
2. Describe how your background choices help unify the three artworks and tie them together as one piece of art. For my project I did not do a background because I thought it was good with a black background and the colors popped out more with a black background and I think that’s what made my project unify and tie them together.
3. Describe your choice of colors/color harmonies and how you used them throughout the artwork.
The colors I used for my drawing where the same colors I saw and the picture I took of them I used the same colors that were on their because I wanted it to look more realistic
4. How did you create contrast in your drawing?
The contrast was soft and the drawing did have many darks but not that many whites and the way I arranged my objects was allied so it could look and pop out and have a better contrast.
5. How did you use textures, highlights and shadows to enhance your artwork?
The texture of my drawing looks soft but for the highlights and shadows I could have used a bit more on that because I don’t have to many shadows and that makes my drawing look flat.
6. Why did you choose a particular background color to mount your artwork?
I think I decided to keep my background black because it made the colors and drawing pop out more but I think if I would have buy a different color background it could have gave it more realistic features.
7. Discuss the importance of understanding the media (prisma or pastels) and acquiring the skills necessary to create a successful project.
I used prisma for my project because the colors where much softer but the white pastel color was really good for the highlights and I think it what you feel good with using in my perspective I feel like prisma is way much better you just have to know what colors you can mix to make it look soft and realistic.
8. Describe any difficulties you had creating your drawing and what you could do to improve your drawing?
My difficulty’s were drawing the loaf of bread because the bread had so many different colors and it did not have many whites and another thing was getting the size right and the position good. To make this better next time I can take the picture from a different position and one thing wrong I did was not printing out the picture and not look at the picture good to get the drawing just right.

Skull drawing
For this practice drawing we had to do a drawing where a skull was under our paper and draw our face. I thought it was pretty easy but than u had to add details and we had a limited of time to do what we could do so it was pretty hard. I think for an over all what I could finish it did come out good.
Self portray
This was one of the most difficult projects I think I had to do in drawing class but I feel like I did pretty well overall.
1. Explain the process you went through to develop your drawing.
This was a very hard process because I had to get the right size of everything and had to make the drawing actually look like me. I had to put value into to the drawing to make it more realistic and so it could pop out more.
2. Explain how you found the different values in the portrait?
I took a picture of myself and put it in black and white and there I saw what parts were dark and what parts are white.
3. Did you achieve a full range of the different values within your portrait? How?
I feel like I did because my drawing was not One full color of shades it was in different values in ranges like from the nose and below the eyes it was dark but not too dark and on the cheeks it was light and medium color. I used different graphing pencils for the dark and light area’s.
4. Describe your craftsmanship. Is the artwork executed and crafted neatly?
I feel like my work is crafted neatly because because the colors are everywhere and is well drawed.
5. How were you able to capture your look?
We got a paper skull and we drawed the eyes and the facial features that helped me a lot to know how to draw them step by step.
6. Explain how you made sure you had correct facial feature placement.
We practiced on where and how far the eyes, nose etc. And we also had lots of practice during the week and we also took notes that helped me a lot to know how to draw things.
7. Explain the importance of learning how to draw all the features individually.
I think it’s important because that way you can learn more better. And if you try to learn them all together it would be harder and maybe learning them individually is much easier to get the hand of it.
8. What part of this unit was the most beneficial and why?
